Day 1 Arrival| Yerevan City Tour

Arrival at Zvartnots International Airport. Transfer from the airport to the hotel with no guide. After check-in and some rest, proceed to explore the vibrant capital of Armenia, Yerevan.

We will start our tour at Republic Square, the magnum opus of architect Alexander Tamanian. Continue to the Cascade Complex, an open-air museum of modern art that connects downtown with the residential area via massive stairways leading up to Victory Park, which offers a fantastic overlook of the entire downtown from above. The monument to Mother Armenia stands tall in the park, carefully guarding the city.

Next, we’ll visit the Opera House, a remarkable example of urban architecture and a lively hub of the city. Just behind it lies Freedom Square, surrounded by parks and outdoor cafés—a favorite spot to spend Yerevan evenings. Overnight at the hotel in Yerevan. (B/–/–) (–/–/–)

Day 2| Yerevan – Tsaghkadzor – Sevan – Yerevan

 After breakfast prepare for a trip to a picturesque spa town and a ski resort nestled in grandiose mountains known as Tsahgkadzor, literally meaning valley of flowers in Armenian. Departure to Lake Sevan, the emerald of Armenia and the second largest alpine lake in the world. Visit Sevanavank monastic complex. The monastery of Sevanavank was founded in 874 by Princess Mariam, after the artificial draining of Lake Sevan, which started in the era of Joseph Stalin, the water level fell about 20 meters, and the island transformed into a peninsula.  Day 3|Garni Temple – Geghard Monastery – Yerevan

After the breakfast depart to Garni village and visit Garni Temple. It was built in the first century A.D. by the Armenian King Tiridates and is dedicated to a heathen god, probably to Mithra, the god of the sun whose figure stood in the depth of the sanctuary. Northeast of Garni, higher up the gorge of the Azat River, there is a magnificent monument of medieval Armenian architecture – Geghard monastery, inscribed in UNESCO World Heritage list. Geghard is another incredible ancient Armenian monastery, partly carved out of a mountain. Drive back to Yerevan. Overnight at the hotel in Yerevan. (B/–/–)

 Day 5| Yerevan – Khor Virap – Areni Winery – Noravank – Yerevan

 Breakfast at the hotel.

After breakfast we’ll drive to Khor Virap Monastery, a real piece of history. The religious importance of the monasteryis related to the first Armenian Catholicos, Grigor Illuminator who introduces Christianity to Armenia. It stands before the snowcapped flanks of Mount Ararat offering astounding view of the mountain – the national symbol of Armenia. Continue tour to Noravank monastery – religious and cultural center of 13th c. It is situated in a narrow gorge which is known for its’ tall, sheer, brick red cliffs, directly across from the monastery. The beauty ofthis monastery is appreciated by thousands of visitors not only because of its architecture and history, but for its harmony with surrounding fabulous nature.
